Habakkuk2:2 Then the LORD answered: Write down the vision and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it. For the vision awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.

Relax this isn’t a sermon, its all about goal setting. Have you ever woke up with an idea so vivid and strong and you wanted to do it the very next day and you gather your resources to do it ASAP and it ends up a spectacular failure. I mean what did you do wrong, this idea was perfect it seemed plausible yet somehow it failed it just didn’t work!

Let’s rewind a bit, back to the verse- This is what the LORD said to Habakkuk- Write it down! He didn’t say go and execute He said write it down! Step 1 – write it down. you all know the magic in writing it down I’m not gonna repeat that. However there is this weird period of time after writing it down, and this is where nothing is happening. If your desire was to be in a long term fulfilling relationship this is when your dm’s are drier than the sand dunes of the Sahara. This is when you YouTube channel has barely anyone watching, the business is breaking even and there is no profit. The most uneventful time of your dreams.

Allow me to introduce what happens in this uneventful time or what should happen. Picture this, you walking around minding your own business and you see a construction site that is still in its foundation stages you pass right on because there is nothing to see there. No one compliments a foundation, no one goes what a strong looking foundation (if you did you are weird). If you plan on building on areas notorious for floods and earthquakes you need steel reinforcements and that adds significant weight to the building and you need the foundation to be able to carry the weight (wait be patient its going to make sense in a minute). Similarly in the uneventful time of your dreams is the time to be building your foundation

It ain’t cute, it ain’t fun but its essential. You want to be married so badly but you have insecurities the size of the entire African continent that you are not dealing with. You want to be an influencer and you’ve got a knife for a tongue – who do you want to influence? You want a successful business but you spending habits are trash! You wanna be a millionaire but you can’t save and you can’t view you account statement without needing a glass of water.

Remember the scripture above. The dream will come to reality, It will happen whether you invest on the foundation or not because the time was appointed before hand and when that time comes will your vision stand the test of time. We are in the middle of pandemic and look at you moving from the bed to your couch, look at you breathing and taking things a day at a time. Look at you surviving- your foundation is solid wouldn’t you want that for you goals and dreams?
