-Capitalize vs Jack of all trades mentality

We all know the saying Jack of all trades but master of none but have you stopped to ask yourself why this is? I mean surely if you can do everything then you must master something – well let me help you answer that question. Let’s define what it means to be a jack of all trades.- it basically means you can do it all- you can sing, act, play sport, cook, clean, fix cars and a style guru. It basically means you can do it all but this again is a huge problem. Doing it all also means dividing your attention as one person to multiple tasks and doing it all means you never sharpen your skill at any single skill long enough for you to master it.
Let’s make this example say you can sing, fix cars, do sports and do public speaking, now lets say in order to build skill and master a skill at any of these you need to spend at least 3 years of consistent practicing but since you know you have a wide range of talents you would never devote 3 years to any skill because by the time it took to develop the skill of singing you would already be convinced its not for you, ( because you haven’t mastered it yet and have spent 6 months on it) felt bored and moved on to acting and fast forward 10 years you have zero skills.
Its really not that hard of concept to grasp: Jack of all trades does not have the discipline or the focus to master any skill because he has options. Years later he can still do everything but masters nothing and has nothing because until you have a skill you can’t make money off of it. This is the mentality that leads many broke and disappointed because of the lack of vision discipline and focus.
Capitalize mentality
The person with this mindset still acknowledges the wide range of talents they have but chooses to capitalize on them and not use them against themselves. This is the mindset that looks at the vision and sees how to strategically use their talents to generate capital, industry and popularity for the vision. Basically this mindset says instead of jumping from ability to ability I will stick with what I can do best and nature it till I am skilled enough then move on to the next one. After 10 years this person would have acquired 3 skills and all would be building blocks to their ultimate vision. They see their talents not as the bigger picture but as pieces to the puzzle that will in essence create that bigger picture.
Moving from Jack of all trades to capitalize is essential but it is a journey that starts with recognizing and moving forward
