Rebuild

Starting over from a catastrophic collapse (part 2)

Previously we spoke the catastrophic collapse that prompted the need to rebuild. We spoke about demolition and clearing out and now we talk about a new season. We will explore what happens when after the debris and the broken windows and the concrete blocks have been cleared ( After the texts have been deleted, after the offices have been sold, after you have filed for bankruptcy and after you move back in with your mom). Cheer up because its only going to get better!

Phase 3 – planning because of a clear perspective

Remember we using the analogy of a building that has collapsed due to poor foundations or poor wall structure but good foundations (good intentions but a terrible situation). So now that all has been cleared, now that there is nothing to hold on to, now that you are standing of flat dusty ground what do you do? Well the answer is simple, you call your architect (business partner, friend or mentor), start planing and broadening your horizons- remember that there is nothing hindering you, a clean canvas is at your disposal. You have a field of open space to plan and execute similarly when we’ve burnt all our bridges and have come to a place where we feel like we have nothing but a clear field around us- be it that you just quit your job to start your own company or that you’ve changed you degree, this phase is the best phase to plan because you have a clear perspective. Without your nagging boss, you can properly rethink and be innovative about ideas you were told were to big for you, without your cheating partner you could re-imagine your identity and develop a sight for a better version of you as you rediscover your self esteem and finally get to spend time with friends.

You will soon find that a clean break is all you needed. Nobody likes having to start over especially when the very thing you have built your life around/on comes crashing down now that begs me to ask, what have you built your life around/on?

phase 4- let construction begin (optional)

Wait, hold up what does optional mean? Well its simple, its up to you whether or not you reach this stage or you run around in circles and live your life planning and not executing. This is a vital, exciting and the evidence of all the other 3 phases. In this phase you get to pour out not only what you’ve planned but to also correct the errors that landed you here in the first place. It is vital that your timing is impeccable- understand that building takes time and that building is expensive in any sense be it emotionally, psychologically and financially. Furthermore building demands your full attention- just a hint people who are always in other people’s business are not building ish they in phase 0 – ignorance. Similarly when we choose to rebuild be it to start the business or write the book or to remarry we ought to understand the time and caution to take. Just a tip: before we enter this phase we have to make sure we can afford it- we have no futile insecurities for the relationship, we are not people pleaser if we ought to start the business and we have wrestled with our thoughts and prevailed thus what others project unto us doesn’t stick.

Building brings a lot of curiosity to bystanders and let me tell you, in that moment everyone has an opinion about how high, how wide and with what material you should build but if they were not there in the first phase pay them no attention. This time hire skilled contractors to do the job – read the book about love languages, take the finance course so that money will flow between you and your partner, attend the business seminars and invest more into your business. When you use the best contractors you will build something that stands the test of time.

All the best in building a monument!
