What happens when one looks in the mirror? what happens when one looks and is not in a rush but looks to see and think, think about what they think about themselves, those very thoughts- the ones we have in our private time, the ones that echo the mind when no one is around those are the ones that shape one’s life to the clay jar that it is and will become.
“For as a man thinketh in his heart so is he”
the Bible: Proverbs 23:7
The average person has between 12 000 and 60 000 thoughts in a day of which 90% and 95% are repetitive, let that sink in. The is a truth to the cliche about one becoming what one reminisces on. What is mostly detrimental is the thoughts one has about him/herself. Those are thoughts that make one believe in one’s abilities or disabilities hence having the right attitude is winning half the battle because one’s attitude is really a reflection of what they think of themselves or their abilities on the subject at hand. Do you ever wonder where the terrible attitude most students have towards math and towards writing comes from? Once one establishes in the mind that math is too difficult for them and one can never be able to master it then the body merely reciprocates what is already established in the mind through thoughts and the result is inevitable the student then fails the subject. however this isn’t about math or physics its about you!

Our thoughts translate into feelings then actions and those actions hammer in either a good or bad way into how how one views themselves. “you never do anything right”.or “you are lazy, you always procrastinate, you are stupid” guess what happens when these thoughts are birthed in one’s mind, one begins to feel them and one’s actions begin to display those thoughts and guess what will happen? those thoughts become reality and soon one will discover that they are lazy and never do anything right. A mom’s favorite “No one ever listens to me” won’t take a genius to figure out that it becomes the reality and soon no one listens to them. Sometimes the thoughts are as deep as the thought that we could never be loved, successful or even wealthy It can be as deep as thinking ”If my parents had a divorce who am I to find true love, I am broken no one could love me”’thus we utter the famous ” I don’t believe in marriage or love” believing subconsciously that we do not deserve a good life, and we do not deserve our wildest dreams. The point being made here is this, as soon as one shifts the negative view that one has even on their weakness that shift can affect every area of their life. Its time to stop being the victim of one’s thoughts and how one uses their own thoughts against them. imagine if one thought ”you are powerful, you are enough, you are in your own league, you are a work in progress, you may not YET be good at this particular task but i believe in you” how much more would that impact you?
If one can shift their thoughts to be even 50% into the positive, diets would work, and one could become more productive. It’s a small step by step shift from I cant to I can, from I am a failure to I went through an event of failure remember, failure is not a person but an event. There will be times where the temptations to beat ourselves up arises, the advise is not to neglect or deny those thoughts but that in that moment to stop and look into the mirror and say ” I know you had a bad day, and to say you messed up is an understatement, yet when I see you I see a person capable of fixing all these errors. For i know tomorrow you’ll be 10 times better. I love you”. Does that not sound softer and loving? Does that not sound like that individual could do better tomorrow?
Remember not to be victim of the thoughts that you could use as your weapon. One was born for such a time as this, a busy 21st century. Take the time to think and build yourself. Think about the person you continue to become, and what will happen when you look into the mirror, you will see a person aligned to unleash the greatness inside of them.
Well said yet again.
We sometimes find ourselves intertwined with background, culture, tradition – the norm that it eventually becomes a cycle that we cannot escape ourselves from.
Sometimes it takes for life to be cruel at an individual inorder for them to strive towards proving the impossible and sometimes we become victim due to the potency of the effect of our own environment.
Once we start to develop that courage, strength and belied of it’s possible and things suddenly coming to surface – then your environment changes..
You are not defined by it but you define it.
